About me

Counselling Services Suffolk

When I was studying for my counselling qualifications it was a requirement that I undergo counselling myself.  At first I felt a bit hesitant.  I probably followed the line most people take, in that counselling can seem as if it is an admission of not being able to resolve your own problems.

Nothing could be further from the truth as counselling provides you with the concentrated time and effort in which to work through the presenting issues.  You are the expert on your own life, but with a skilled helper it somehow seems less complicated.  It allows you to analyse your thoughts with a more distinct emphasis until gradually a clearer focus emerges.

I found that counselling had a very positive affect on my general wellbeing and in helping me look at certain aspects of my life in a different light.

Remember the first session is free for you to come along and meet with me, no pressure, no obligation, just an initial session for you to outline your problem and to see if we feel that counselling is the right therapy for you.
