About me

Counselling Services Suffolk

When I was undergoing training to become a counsellor, I found it difficult to find a counsellor who felt right for me.  It was just an instinct thing.  I guess I was looking for someone I could get on with and who could understand me.

I also think I was looking for a counsellor who had not necessarily had an easy life, maybe someone who had struggled a bit and had weathered a few disasters along the way. After undergoing the necessary discipline to become a counsellor I now realise how judgemental I was!

But I also learnt the latest research in counselling states:- 'the relationship you have with your counsellor is a key element in whether or not your counselling will be successful'.

They say what goes around comes around and now when people first meet me, they get the impression that I have had a cosy conventional life.  Not quite true!  Life had other plans for me and through these experiences and in dealing with them, I like to think that I have something to offer.

Remember the first session is free for you to come along and meet with me, no pressure, no form fillingno obligation, just an initial session for you to outline your problem and to see if we feel that we can work together.
